For the first nine weeks of the 2020-2021 school year, many public schools have opted to open virtually this fall. As a result, students will once again be home two, three or more days a week and perhaps home for the entire school year. Teachers and parents alike want those days to be as productive as possible. Students want to be productive, but they also want their lessons to be creative and engaging.
The National Foundation for Energy Education and the heating, cooling and refrigeration industry have joined forces to produce an engaging and rigorous, remote learning program, Adventures with Mr. Energy for science students in
grades 8 – 12.
Together with the help of Mr. Energy, students will explore the scientific principles of heat, temperature, thermal expansion, phase change, and the refrigeration cycle. Each lesson is 25-35 minutes in length. Just the correct amount of time to keep students engaged without becoming bored or tired.
